Latin Name: Rudbeckia hirta 'Holtsosis851' (Solar Sisters™)
Common Name: Solar Sisters Black-Eyed Susan
Zones: 7–10
Height & Spread: 18–24 inches tall, spreading 14–16 inches wide
Descriptive Features: A show-stopping, double-flowered Black-Eyed Susan from the Bloomin' Easy® series, prized for its dahlia-like blooms that emerge sunny yellow and gradually deepen through shades of orange, red, and copper as the season progresses — giving the plant continuously shifting color from a single planting. Fully double flowers bloom heavily and continuously from early summer all the way until the first hard frost. Forms a tidy, upright, clumping habit with strong architectural presence, excellent for mass plantings, containers, or as a garden focal point. Fast-growing, deer-resistant, and low-maintenance; performs best in full sun to ensure sturdy stems and the most vivid color development. Note that in cooler regions it behaves more as a short-lived biennial or self-seeding annual rather than a long-term perennial.
