Descriptive Features: A standout hybrid bred by Hans Hansen, combining the best traits of both parent species — thick, leathery, narrow, highly disease-resistant foliage and a stoloniferous, slow-spreading habit rather than the tight clumping typical of P. paniculata. Blooms 2–3 weeks earlier than most summer phlox, opening pure white, fragrant flowers with a delicate light purple eye that appear in profusion from early into midsummer, with some rebloom in fall if deadheaded. Remarkable resistance to powdery mildew keeps the broad, dark green foliage looking clean and beautiful all season, even in heat and humidity. Rich, sweet fragrance and abundant nectar draw butterflies, bees, and hummingbirds. As a taller member of the Fashionably Early® series, it's best suited to the middle or back of the border. Best sited in full sun for optimal flowering and mildew resistance, with rich, consistently moist soil.
