Descriptive Features: A softly colored Shasta daisy valued for its unusual pastel flower tone, a welcome departure from the classic pure-white daisies most gardeners expect from the species. Forms a tidy, compact clump of glossy, dark green, lance-shaped foliage. In early to midsummer, large, semi-double to double blooms open a pale, creamy lemon-yellow before gradually fading to soft banana-cream and finally to white as they mature — often showing several shades on the plant at once for a subtle, layered effect. Sturdy stems hold the abundant flowers well above the foliage without flopping, and deadheading spent blooms encourages continued flowering into late summer. A reliable pollinator plant, drawing bees and butterflies throughout its bloom season, and makes an excellent, long-lasting cut flower. Adaptable to a range of well-drained soils and tolerant of heat and humidity better than many older Shasta daisy cultivars. Deer-resistant and low-maintenance, benefiting from division every few years to maintain vigor. An excellent choice for borders, cottage gardens, cutting gardens, or mass plantings in full sun to light shade.
