Latin Name: Hosta sieboldiana 'Frances Williams'
Common Name: Frances Williams Hosta
Zones: 3–9
Height & Spread: 24–30 inches tall, spreading 36–48 inches wide
Descriptive Features: A beloved, award-winning hosta prized for its large, heavily puckered blue-green leaves edged in a wide, irregular band of golden-yellow that deepens as the season progresses. The thick, corrugated foliage has a rugged, seersucker texture and forms a substantial, rounded mound with strong presence in the garden. In early summer, near-white to pale lavender flowers rise on sturdy scapes above the foliage. One of the most recognizable variegated hostas and a classic choice for shade gardens, borders, and woodland plantings. Prefers part to full shade with moist, well-drained soil; some leaf-edge browning can occur in hot climates or intense sun, so protection from afternoon sun is beneficial.
