Descriptive Features: A bold, large-scale variegated maiden grass valued for its dramatically wide, broad leaf blades — considerably wider than most other variegated Miscanthus cultivars — each edged in crisp creamy-white margins surrounding a rich green center, giving the plant an especially luminous, high-contrast presence in the landscape. Forms a large, substantial, upright to slightly arching clump that commands attention as a focal point or specimen. In late summer to early fall, coppery-pink to reddish flower plumes rise above the foliage on strong stems, maturing to a fluffy, silvery-tan as they age and providing excellent winter interest, movement, and texture if left standing, along with material for cut or dried arrangements. Foliage takes on warm tan and beige tones in fall before winter dormancy. Extremely low-maintenance and drought-tolerant once established, adaptable to a wide range of soils. Deer-resistant and a valuable source of winter shelter and seed for birds. Its bold scale and brightness make it an outstanding specimen, privacy screen, or anchor for the back of large borders in full sun.
