Juniper trees are highly versatile, and relatively low maintenance plants. They tend to be drought resistant, and can be used as hedging, privacy screening, or specimen plantings. The Juniperus Virginiana is the native tree that is widely spread throughout Rhode Island. Do be careful, because the deer will usually eat the lower portion of these trees.
