Vernonia Noveboracensis 2Gal

Venonia noveboracensis, commonly called New York ironweed, is a tall, clump-forming perennial native to the eastern and southern United States. Occurring in moist thickets, low areas and along streambanks. Features clusters of tiny, fluffy, deep purple flowers atop stiff, leafy stems. Blooms late summer into fall. Attractive to butterflies. 

Easily grown in average, medium to wet soils in full sun. Prefers rich, moist, slightly acidic soils, but is generally tolerant of a wide range of soils. Suitable for native wildflower gardens, meadows and naturalized areas, and is a wonderful background plant for borders.
