Descriptive Features: A woody-based, mint-family perennial named the Perennial Plant Association's Plant of the Year in 1995. Forms a loose, upright, multi-stemmed clump of finely dissected, aromatic silver-gray foliage that releases a strong fragrance when brushed or crushed. From midsummer through early fall, tall airy spires of small lavender-blue tubular flowers rise well above the foliage, creating a hazy blue cloud effect from a distance. Extremely drought-tolerant once established and untroubled by deer, rabbits, or disease. An excellent background or specimen plant for xeriscapes, borders, and mixed perennial plantings in full sun.
