Latin Name: Leucanthemum × superbum 'Sugar Bowl'
Common Name: Sugar Bowl Shasta Daisy
Zones: 5–9
Height & Spread: 5–10 inches tall, spreading 12–16 inches wide
Descriptive Features: An especially petite, dwarf Shasta daisy forming compact, dome-shaped mounds well suited to smaller gardens and containers where larger daisy cultivars would be out of scale. Dark green, narrow, serrated foliage stays neat and low, with sturdy stems that hold up beautifully despite the plant's diminutive size. From early into late summer, an abundance of pure white, semi-double blooms with bright golden-yellow centers cover the mound, offering long-lasting color and making excellent cut flowers relative to the plant's small stature. A reliable draw for bees and butterflies throughout its bloom season. Adaptable to a range of well-drained soils and offers excellent heat and drought tolerance once established. Deer- and rabbit-resistant, low-maintenance, and benefits from division every few years to maintain vigor. Its compact, tidy scale makes it an excellent choice for the front of borders, rock gardens, edging, or container plantings in full sun.
