Latin Name: Hosta 'Blue Angel'
Common Name: Blue Angel Hosta
Zones: 3–9
Height & Spread: 28–32 inches tall, spreading 48–60 inches wide
Descriptive Features: A large, statuesque hosta forming a bold mound of thick, heavily textured, blue-green leaves with a distinct frosty, waxy bloom that gives them their signature icy-blue color. The huge, heart-shaped leaves have prominent veining and a slightly puckered, corrugated surface. In mid to late summer, near-white flowers rise on tall scapes well above the foliage, creating a striking contrast against the blue-green leaves. One of the largest hostas available, 'Blue Angel' makes an excellent background plant, specimen, or anchor for shade borders and woodland gardens. Prefers part to full shade with moist, well-drained soil; the blue coloring holds best in cooler, shadier conditions.
