Descriptive Features: A member of Proven Winners' Meant to Bee® collection, bred by Walters Gardens specifically for a large, full habit, significant landscape presence, and reliable hardiness — noticeably taller than sibling cultivar 'Royal Raspberry'. Forms a shrub-like, tightly clumping perennial of minty, spicy-fragrant green foliage. From mid to late summer through fall, abundant terminal spikes of soft peachy-orange flowers held on striking mauve calyxes cover the top two-thirds of the plant, with the colorful calyxes extending visual interest well after the flowers themselves fade. An outstanding pollinator plant, drawing bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds in large numbers. Thrives in hot, dry, sunny climates and well-drained soil — will not tolerate heavy clay, especially over winter — though it's remarkably drought-tolerant once established and also handles wind and salt spray, making it suitable for coastal gardens. Deer- and rabbit-resistant, low-maintenance, and easy to grow. An excellent choice for rock gardens, xeric container plantings, borders, or erosion control on slopes in full sun.
