Descriptive Features: A compact, densely branched coneflower from Terra Nova's Kismet® series, bred for an unusually long, saturated bloom season and a strong upright habit that fills in right to the ground without needing facer plants. Vibrant orange, daisy-like flowers up to 4 inches across surround a prominent dark orange-brown to chocolate center cone, with each individual bloom lasting for weeks. Flowers open from early summer and continue right up until frost — a remarkably long flowering window compared to most coneflowers. Fast-growing and long-lived, often thriving for a decade or more once established. Dark green, lance-shaped foliage forms a dense, mounded clump beneath the abundant blooms. Highly attractive to hummingbirds and butterflies, and largely left alone by deer. Dried seed heads persist into winter, adding architectural interest and feeding goldfinches and other songbirds if left standing. Drought-, heat-, and humidity-tolerant once established, and low-maintenance overall. An excellent choice for perennial borders, small gardens, prairies, patio containers, or cutting and dried arrangements in full sun.
