Latin Name: ×Sedoro SunSparkler® 'Blue Elf'
Common Name: Blue Elf Sedoro
Zones: 4–9
Height & Spread: 3 inches tall (to 6 inches with flowers), spreading 15 inches wide
Descriptive Features: A world-first breeding breakthrough — the first hybrid between Sedum and Orostachys — combining the steel-blue, tufted foliage rosettes and compact habit of its Orostachys parent with the spectacular, fragrant flowering of Sedum. Forms a low, dense carpet of small, fleshy blue-green leaves that spreads readily as a groundcover, ideal for slopes, green roofs, and rock gardens. From August into October, hundreds of fragrant, nectar-rich dark pink to raspberry-red flower clusters smother the plant, drawing honeybees and butterflies in large numbers. Handles heat, humidity, and mild drought with ease once established. Deer- and rabbit-resistant, evergreen in mild climates, and virtually pest- and disease-free. An excellent spiller for containers, or a colorful accent for rock gardens, borders, and small-space plantings in full sun.
