Descriptive Features: A fast-spreading, rhizomatous groundcover discovered by English plantsman Walter Ingwersen on a 1929 hiking expedition in the former Yugoslavia. Forms a dense mat of deeply lobed, aromatic foliage that releases an apple-like scent when brushed, turning coppery-red to bronze in fall. In late spring to early summer, delicate pale pink flowers with darker sepals and stamens hover above the foliage, followed by attractive crimson seed heads. Notably heat- and shade-tolerant, thriving even in dry shade where few groundcovers perform well. Deer- and rabbit-resistant; ideal for underplanting shrubs, woodland borders, or weed-suppressing mass plantings.
