Descriptive Features: A vigorous, semi-evergreen groundcover discovered in the Biokovo Mountains of Croatia and named the Perennial Plant Association's 2015 Perennial Plant of the Year. Forms a dense, mounding mat of aromatic, deeply lobed, glossy medium-green leaves that release a light, fruity fragrance when brushed. In late spring, masses of pale white flowers blushed with pink and accented by contrasting pink stamens rise just above the foliage, with sporadic rebloom into fall. Foliage turns brilliant red to coppery-orange in autumn. Tolerant of drought and dry shade once established; a reliable, low-maintenance choice for edging, rock gardens, and mass groundcover plantings in full sun to part shade.
