Vaccinium angustifolium, commonly called lowbush blueberry, is a low-growing small deciduous shrub native to northeastern North America. Occurring in open conifer woods, sandy or rocky areas, abandoned fields, on mountaintops, and along roadsides. Features glossy blue-green summer foliage that turns brilliant shades of red and bronze in the fall. Delicate bell-shaped flowers give way to sweet, edible berries. Fruit color can range from light, powder blue to jet black.

Easily grown in moist, acidic, well-drained soils in full sun or part shade. Full sun locations will result in more blooms, more fruit, and more showy fall foliage.
