Latin Name: Hemerocallis 'Chicago Apache'
Common Name: Chicago Apache Daylily
Zones: 3–9
Height & Spread: 24–30 inches tall, spreading 18–24 inches wide
Descriptive Features: A tetraploid daylily prized for its velvety, sunfast, 5-inch scarlet-red blooms with bright green throats and loosely ruffled petals. Blooms open from late June into August on sturdy, wind-resistant scapes above clean, deep green, strap-like foliage that forms a tidy, sizable mass. Bred by Marsh-Klehm in 1981, it earned an Honorable Mention from the American Daylily Society. Notably disease- and drought-resistant, with color that won't fade even in intense sun. An excellent choice for mass plantings, borders, or erosion control in full to part sun.
