Descriptive Features: A compact ornamental onion prized for its striking powder-blue, strap-like foliage — a rare and distinctive foliage color among alliums — that forms a neat, upright clump. In early to midsummer, round, two-inch clusters of soft lilac-pink, star-shaped flowers rise on sturdy stems just above the foliage, offering weeks of color and drawing bees and butterflies. Notably heat- and humidity-tolerant compared to many alliums, with good resistance to onion rust. Deer- and rabbit-resistant, drought-tolerant once established, and low-maintenance. Its small stature and blue-toned foliage make it an excellent choice for the front of borders, rock gardens, or mass plantings in full sun.
