Latin Name: Heuchera 'Grape Expectations'
Common Name: Grape Expectations Coral Bells
Zones: 4–9
Height & Spread: 12–15 inches tall, spreading 18–24 inches wide
Descriptive Features: A Heuchera villosa hybrid forming a dense, upright mound of robust, deeply lobed, somewhat fuzzy foliage. New leaves emerge vibrant grape-purple with black veins in spring, develop a bright silver overlay as temperatures rise through summer, and deepen back to rich purple in late fall. In midsummer, creamy white flowers appear on tall, dark purple stems rising well above the foliage. As a villosa hybrid, it offers increased tolerance for high heat and humidity compared to other coral bells. Deer- and drought-resistant once established; excellent for borders, edging, containers, and cut arrangements in partial shade.
