Descriptive Features: A vigorous, sterile hybrid between Korean mint and giant hyssop, prized as one of the most reliable and widely grown Agastache cultivars for its exceptional heat, humidity, and cold tolerance. Forms an upright, well-branched clump of aromatic, anise-scented, grayish-green foliage that stays attractive all season. From midsummer into early fall, dense, bottlebrush-like spikes of soft powder-blue to lavender-blue flowers rise on sturdy stems well above the foliage, providing one of the longest bloom seasons of any perennial and standing up well without staking. An outstanding pollinator plant, drawing bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds in large numbers throughout its bloom period, and the dried seed heads provide winter interest and food for birds if left standing. As a sterile hybrid, it won't self-seed aggressively the way many Agastache species can. Highly adaptable to a range of soils, including clay, and more forgiving of average garden moisture than many other Agastache selections, though good drainage is still preferred. Deer- and rabbit-resistant, low-maintenance, and long-lived. An excellent choice for perennial borders, pollinator and cutting gardens, or mass plantings in full sun to light shade.
